I attended St. Martin Academy from 1st grade through 8th grade. During those years
I made many memories and lifelong friends. I enjoyed being a part of this small close knit family. I was pushed to learn and had all the tools and help I needed. The Workshop Way program makes
learning more interactive and in the lower grades it was a huge help to my learning experience.
I graduated from St. Martin’s in 2007 and then attended Steele Canyon High School. After graduating I went to Alaska for part of the year to work with a salmon fishing company. Once back in San Diego I got a job with a construction company as I wanted to work and earn some money. After a few years I went back to school at Grossmont College and took a job at Home Depot. I currently work as a tech for Penske Hyundai and also work for the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce as an event supervisor and planner for five annual events throughout the year.
The memories from St. Martin’s are special and will always be with me. I have stayed in contact with many of my class mates and other alums from the school. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the beginning of my educational journey. At the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, Joel talks about his years at St. Martin
Academy. Pictured with Principal Toni Dimuzio and Vice Principal, Diane Hartley, the event was held in August.
