Meet our Room Parents
These are some very important people in our community. We appreciate each and every room parent. Already they have done a fantastic job in hosting the reception on the first day of school. Their assistance is invaluable with bake sales, Grandparents’ Day, hospitality, field trips, Walkathon, etc. We are grateful for their work, spirit and over-all involvement in the school. Their names and e-mail addresses are listed on the classroom page on our school website. In October, a list of phone numbers and e-mails will be listed in the school directory.

Procedures for After School Classes/ Sports – pick up:
Most after school classes begin next week. After 2:45, parents picking up students from sports or after school classes are to use the pathway to the day care. Parents who need to come into the school office for business may use the front gates until 3:30. The gates are locked after that time. We ask that if children are with you during pick-up that they stay with you. Only the students in the day care may use the playground equipment at this time. Thank you for your cooperation.
AED on Campus
Our school has an automated external defibrillator or AED on campus. It is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation, the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm. AEDs are designed to be simple to use for the layman, and the use of AEDs is taught in many first aid, first responder, and basic life support (BLS) level CPR classes. Our staff has been trained to use this device if necessary. The AED is located in the science lab where it is accessible to any adult.
SchoolMessenger – Emergency School Notifications
“SchoolMessenger” is used by SMA to notify parents by email, voice mail and text in the event of an emergency. If you wish to “opt” out on this notification, please call or email the school office. We will be doing a test of this system in the next few weeks.
School Pictures: (mylifetouch.com) – Place your order before picture day!
Pictures are scheduled for next Thursday, September 29. Parents have the opportunity to customize & order school pictures before picture day. Go to mylifetouch.com (portrait ID # CK907782Y0), to place your order online. Parents need to decide what they would like their child(ren) to wear on this day. Boys must wear a collared shirt for pictures. All free dress guidelines will apply. (St. Martin of Tours Dress Code) It is completely acceptable for your child to choose to wear their school uniform. If you wish to order pictures using the form enclosed, please return the order form, one per student, in your parent envelope or have your child bring it on picture day. Money must be included with the order. Ordering is optional.
